James Kellett Takes Daytona Win

James Kellett Wins at WKA Daytona Margay Sprint Championships

We received this news via James’s mother – (thank you) and it came through as follows;

“Don’t know if you publish news of Super 1 drivers’ wins overseas, but if you do, James raced at Daytona Kartweek Manufacturer’s Cup at Daytona International Speedway in America between Christmas and New Year.  He was racing for an American team in the Komet Jr Lite class.  There were over 650 entries for the meeting and 42 on the grid for the final.  Well, he won.   Can you imagine – I was like a woman possessed! There were no crashes or mechanical flags – or bumping.  It was pure textbook racing.  A pleasure to watch.  I’m still on cloud nine.”

eKarting News published the following report by Keith Shampine – WKA;

“Merlin driver James Kellett surprised some onlookers Friday when he scored the Komet Jr Lite victory over three heavy hitters in the WKA junior ranks. Kellett fended off the best Man Cup has to offer in Kyle Kalish, Ashley Rogero, Joel Jens and Jake Craig for the triumph.

Grant Quinlan took sixth in his first WKA weekend in the junior classes. Austin Osborne was seventh, Garrett Johnston eighth, Gavin Reichelt ninth and James Bennett tenth. Forty-two karts started the main.”

Congratulations to James from us all – good to see that the level of Superone Series drivers is truly world class. See you on the grid soon James (and Mrs Kellet of course…..)
